Medicare can be confusing, not only does it have Parts A & B, known as original Medicare, but they also have Parts C, D & Medicare Supplements. Original Medicare covers most medically necessary services and supplies, but it doesn’t cover everything.
This is where Part C & Medicare Supplement Insurance may be beneficial for your situation. Medicare is not always automatic. If you are drawing on Social Security, you will automatically be enrolled in Medicare at age 65. If you are not drawing on Social Security, you will need to activate your Part B through Social Security if you want your Medicare active when you turn 65.
